Media imposes great impact on election
Who would have imagined that the presidential election nowadays relies so heavily upon the emerging social media?
Year back, all the candidates announced their presidential candidacy by public speech. Now they may post their announcements on Facebook,Twitter or Youtube.
The media, especially social media and the Internet,has never changed the face of presidential election in such an influential way. People watch presidential debate on television to get better insight of the ideas of each candidate; people read newspapers about candidates’ latest campaigns and critics’ opinions; people follow their candidates on social networking tools and interact with them.
We can even say the power of media is so great than to some degree, a candidate’s success of failure links directly to the media because one public scandal may ruin the whole efforts, and continuously positive coverage will in no doubt largely increase the candidate’s chance to win .
